P.J. Spillings were contracted for the major design and build contract to construct a new industrial unit and forecourts at Spectra Packaging’s existing production site.
The UK’s leading, privately owned manufacturer of innovative, high quality rigid plastic packaging had outgrown its existing space and needed a new purpose-built facility. P.J Spillings were delighted to be asked to take on all aspects of this large-scale build, from initial groundworks and construction on an industrial scale, right through to the final fit out and staff areas.
Ancillary works included external works and installation of new mains services and drainage installations using natural materials with gabion baskets for stability. The external cladding design features a blue to white graded colour scheme, allowing the vast structure to more easily match the existing units on site. The new industrial unit now provides extensive warehouse storage, an internal office and welfare facilities.
