P.J. Spillings were contracted to build a custom commercial centre for wholesale supplier of toys, games gifts and gadgets – Tobar Toys.
The brief was to build a bespoke structure that combined their two distribution sites and create a single streamlined distribution hub.
In addition to constructing the building, we also built a new main road into the site and car parking facilities for the entire distribution centre.
We also installed a state-of-the-art, 933 metre-long conveyor system and an iconic 20ft backwards working clock on the gable end of the building, designed by renowned engineer Tim Hunkin.
The hub’s massive 21,220m² area included:
• Ground floor warehouse space of 10,000m²
• 1st floor mezzanine (3,400m²)
• 2nd floor mezzanine (4,000m²)
• Repackaging area of 700m²
• Offices of 3,120m² over two floors
